Chef KK has planned and produced events, provided menu consultation and managed catering operations for more than twenty years. A 1984 graduate of the CCA in San Francisco, she launched her career at San Francisco’s Compton Place Hotel. Over the next two years, she worked her way up from Chef at the Zuni Cafe to Dinner Chef at San Francisco’s Post Street Bar & Cafe located at the St. Andrew’s Hotel.
Chef KK moved to Los Angeles and as Chef at the exclusive Geoffrey’s of Malibu, she directed daily food operations. Next, she joined Ambrosia Caterers as Executive Chef and annual sales soared over the next five years under her direction. Throughout her career, Chef KK has developed original recipes and managed staff from 10 to 100. She has planned and directed some of the most notable galas including catering two Governor’s Ball soirees and the historic opening of the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, CA.
Chef KK relocated to the Palm Springs area in 2003, where she now owns Katherine King Special Events & Catering in Palm Desert, California. She is continually delighting clients locally and those that travel into the Palm Springs area for weddings and events.
